Feb. 3rd, 2015 04:16 pm- Kali is the sibling that is into fandom. She reads a lot of whatever this reality has for science fiction and fantasy (though what would their fantasy be? Worlds without magic?). She’s also read all of Varric’s books.
- She loves all kinds of movies but has a fondness for action flicks and big blockbuster films. She totally once wrote a fan script for a movie adaptation of one of Varric’s books and shared it online.
- She likes games: video games, board games, card games, you name it.
- She’s basically that type of girl that when she was younger she dressed all in punk styles and hung out with a bunch of outcasts who probably made her believe that it was cooler to be “just one of the guys” and talked about how cool she was because she “wasn’t just a girl” and internalized the fuck out of that shit.
- Which is one of the reasons she had such a problem getting along with Lulwen, who always embraced her girlishness and wasn’t afraid of dresses or the color pink.
- Kali is learning to get over all of that, and coming to terms with her femininity while also learning how to be more of a feminist.
- She approaches the Dalish stuff the same way that Merrick does, agnostic but partaking in it for the sense of community.
- After the attempted assault she really lost her way for a bit. She started smoking and got involved less with nerds and more with actual punks. She pulled away from a lot of her interests and got involved with a type of gang when she was 16, shortly after getting her blood writing.
- She had sex with each of the other members of the gang, both male and female, and actually lost her virginity that way. They sort of all treated each other like shit. She basically got into a very unhealthy situation.
- Until she was 17 one of her so called “friends” ODed and the rest of the gang disappeared on her. She ended up calling Merrick instead of an ambulance and he was the one that walked her through what to do to get her friend to safety. They probably saved his life, but just barely.
- That served as a wakeup call and she had Merrick with her when she tearfully told Cyril everything that had happened in a lot of detail and Cyril promised to get her help. He made she got what she needed and then he and Merrick together made sure she followed through on it.
- She was diagnosed with depression and working through the trauma of what happened to her with a therapist and medication helped her a lot.
- She met Cullen after one of her counseling sessions. He was at the same building after attending an NA meeting there and they did that awkward bumping into each other thing. They didn’t tell each other why they were there but she offered to get him a new coffee since she had split his complimentary one. She was so taken by his sincerity that she kind of made it a habit of taking him out for coffee after his meetings.
- She doesn’t have any food allergies but wool makes her break out into hives.
- She used to dye her hair all kinds of colors (purple and blue where her favorite colors) but now she dyes it a darker red than it is naturally.
- She mostly likes punk and hard rock music, but she can tolerate anything music wise.
- She tried to get Merrick to teach her how to play the guitar but ended up not having the talent for it. She thinks it is funny that she took to the dual blades easily enough though.
- She totally reads and writes fan fiction occasionally, and has read Cassandra’s fanfics without realizing that Cassandra is the one who wrote them. One of them has her favorite fanfic smut scene ever.
